Creative examples of web design

Hi, I’m Jake and I am doing two weeks work experience at FreshSpark Creative. I have been given the task to produce a blog on the creative uses in website design to make the sites stand out from the crowd. When designing a website, it is vital to pull out all the stops in order to produce a unique product, giving your business an advantage over your competitors.

These are my favourite three designs which I found during my research. I think that the way the three of them use a dark theme with small snips of colour; allowing the company to draw the audiences attention to important, appealing information and topics. At the same time, the three of them avoid complication and confusion which can sometimes be caused from websites that are too busy as they flood the screen with content which can give a poor user experience. There are very few large text boxes full of information which can often put the reader off and make them browse elsewhere. Instead, there are eye catching pictures, effects and graphics used with simple links to allow easy navigation for the audience.

Something which I also liked the look of these six sites which I came across during my research. They all generate good aesthetics through colours, themes and features such as the monster on the Playtend web page. Combining these together, the sites all produce a good experience for the audience. This drew my attention to the websites immediately which is the main reason I decided to use them. The reason behind a website is to increase awareness, sales or demand for a business, organisation or person; therefore, it is vital they are eye catching to draw in the audience and potential customers. Similarly, they all use simple navigation tools which make the whole browsing experience much easier for the audience.

Looking at FreshSpark’s own website, this also backs up everything I said about needing to make it look good to stand out from the crowd. The dash of lime green included throughout draws in people’s eyes straight away. Once again, there is nothing that is confusing or difficult to use which always improves the users opinion on the site and the set up behind it. The best method of standing out from the crowd which I have found is simplicity, effective colours and interesting graphics.
